Honeycomb core Panels and screens
Partitioning and office screening - cardboard honeycomb
The light weight and rigidity of Dufaylite honeycomb make it the
ideal core material for non-load bearing partitioning and
office screens that are strong and easy to handle on site.
Cardboard honeycomb combines readily with hardboard, plywood and
plasterboard and is uniquely suited to both straight and curved
panels. It also has a high resistance to changes in ambient
temperature so that the risk of warping is greatly reduced.
Display and shop fitting panels - cardboard
honeycomb
Dufaylite honeycomb core produces lightweight shop
fitting panels with flat surfaces for excellent graphics.
It can be used with all types of decorative laminates and it has
the consistent thickness that is critical for panels to fit display
system framing.
External panels, boats, caravan's - Resin-impregnated
honeycomb
Pre-expanded core is impregnated with phenolic resin for
applications requiring extra strength and/or moisture
resistance.
The regular cell pattern provides uniform load bearing and the
resin impregnation ensures long life in humid atmospheres. It is
supplied in sheets 900 x 600mm in thicknesses from 9-150mm.
Typical applications are tables, worktops and bulkheads in boats
and caravans; exterior signage and building panels; technical and
scientific instrument bases and marker boards and noticeboards.
To increase productivity and minimise storage space, Dufaylite
honeycomb core can be supplied in continuous form on pallets. Each
pallet can hold the equivalent of 1,000 door cores and the core
feeds directly from the pallet into the Dufaylite HR4 Expander,
which expands it and guillotines it to length automatically at
rates of up to 14 door cores per minute. Core lengths and widths
can be changed at any stage for a new door panel size.
Using continuous core can reduce the labour content for all
types of panel. It also simplifies storage, stock control and
forward planning because you only have to keep the thickness you
need, rather than both thicknesses and lengths.
