Door cores made using recycled paper honeycomb

Flush and veneered doors Cardboard honeycomb

Cardboard honeycomb is the most widely used lightweight door core among leading door manufacturers and can be used with many facing materials, including plywood and hardboard. It is available as individual door cores, to suit lower volumes and batch production, or in continuous form to suit high-volume, continuous manufacturing processes. Dufaylite cardboard honeycomb door core is available in two cell sizes, providing compressive strengths from 0.84kg/cm3 to 1.5kg/cm3. and in thicknesses from 9.100mm

Metal Doors: Cardboard honeycomb

Small cell Dufaylite cardboard honeycomb with a compressive strength of 1.5kg/cm2 is supplied for use in steel fire doors. The small cell provides excellent support for thin facing materials. It is available as individual or continuous lightweight door cores in thicknesses from 9 - 100mm

Moulded panel doors and bi-fold doors: Corrugated honeycomb

'X' mesh corrugated honeycomb provides increased compressive strength for moulded panel doors and it is especially suitable for edge gluing, offering economies compared with total area coating. It bonds well to most facing materials and is available in one cell size in thicknesses from 20-100mm. It is delivered as individual pieces for expansion by hand.

Honeycomb pads

Card-faced honeycomb pads offer the traditional high strength and lightweight combination of regular cardboard honeycomb, but with an increased surface area for bonding.

Suitable for varied applications as a lightweight door core material - contact our sales office for details.

Kraft paper honeycomb

This lightweight door core material provides increased surface support and may be preferred for panels that require greater overall strength. It has a small cell size for extra support of thin facing materials and greater resistance to the penetration of occasional moisture.
